MOENA
Moena is the gateway to Val di Fassa, lying in a gentle valley basin where Val di Fassa, Val di Fiemme and the road from the San Pellegrino pass meet, surrounded by some of the Dolomites’ most stunning mountains. It’s also known as the “Fairy of the Dolomites” because of the number of fairy tales and legends associated with it. In the winter, Moena is the beating heart of the Alpe Lusia/San Pellegrino ski resort, boasting a network of cutting-edge ski lifts, stunning slopes, and an amazing cross-country skiing centre.
PASSO SAN PELLEGRINO
The Passo San Pellegrino (1,918 m) is a wide Alpine pass halfway between Moena in Trentino and Falcade in Belluno. It’s a paradise for winter sports. There’s a lot of accommodation available close to the lifts, so you can get to the slopes easily. Nothing comes between you and the snow! Beginners, professionals, families and pleasure seekers will feel right at home here, in the Freeride Park and in the snowparks as well as in the playground. There’s also the Alochet cross-country skiing centre, with trails leading through stunning forests.
FALCADE
Falcade (1,100 m) is a village in the Belluno Dolomites at the foot of the Focobon, in the stunning Valle del Biois. It’s located on the Veneto side of the Alpe Lusia/San Pellegrino ski resort. This is where a run known as the Lover’s Slope finishes. Locals call it that because the view it offers of the Dolomites couldn’t get more romantic! Falcade has long been a resort for families and children to ski in. The Pietro Scola cross-country skiing centre at the top of Falcade is hugely popular. You can even enjoy a night-time ski session, the slope lit up with floodlights. Ice skating, snow mobile trips and snowtubing are also available in Falcade and are all very popular!
SORAGA DI FASSA
Soraga is one of the oldest settlements in Val di Fassa, and over the years it has grown bigger and more beautiful while keeping up with the times – but it’s never lost what makes it unique. The slopes of the Vallaccia in the Monzoni Group and the world-famous Rosengarten are just some of the natural heritage on offer here. If you love winter hikes and snowshoeing you’ll feel right at home in Soraga di Fassa. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts will feel like they’ve hit the jackpot, too. If you prefer skiing, don’t worry – there are regular ski buses to get you to the local ski resorts.
